GIS software


QGIS is an opensource and multiplatform geographic information system (GIS) released under the GPL license. It support to manage raster and vector formats and databases. Several public and private organizations use QGIS software as part of their activities and many use it instead of GIS market leaders GIS software (ArcGIS, Mapinfo Professional, Geomedia, Global Mapper, SuperGIS). Why? What has contributed to its growing success, to be one of the most used GIS tools ?

ESRI Inc. ArcGIS for Desktop suite

ESRI Inc. is the GIS world leader. Considered as a pioneer in geographic information management, it offers the most complete software range in French.

ArcGIS for Desktop offers you to manage and implement data, realise major analysis, process modelling and automation, and seeing results on professional quality maps. With its rich analysis infrastructure, ready-to-use tools and the ability to create geoprocessing models, scripts and complete working environment, ArcGIS gives you ways to better answer to your questions, test predictions and observe relationship between your data. Versions are named Basic for Arcview, Standard for ArcEditor and Advanced for ArcInfo. It gives you the opportunity to move up within range to powerful GIS solutions performed for creation, to modify and keep control on data quality (topological data especially). Global Mapper

Global Mapper is a simple GIS tool, capable of displaying the most widespread raster, elevation and vector data. It converts, edits, prints, acquires GPS data, and gives the opportunity to use GIS features on your datasets in a more simple and cheaper way. Global Mapper also allows, in it, a direct access at all TerraServer satellite imagery and USGS's topographical maps database as well as elevation data viewing in real 3D with draping of any raster or vector data.
